Pancreatitis Supplements

There are a number of small studies that have been done both here and abroad suggesting that there are pancreatitis supplements that can cool and help with the symptoms of pancreatitis.  There is even evidence to suggest that over time they can reduce pain and the number of occurances.

These key supplements are those that are antioxidents.  One that has recieved a lot of press is selenium.  Selenium can be found both naturally in foods and in supplement.   In various studies supplements of between 200mcg and 800mcg wer given.

Other supplements are glycyrrhizin, magnesium, glutamine, and ketotifen are also suggested in different publications.

But you should always make sure that you confer with your medical doctor before adding or changing supplements that you take.  The balance between the health of your pancreas and the use of various supplements can be sort of iffy so always make sure that your Doctor knows about any pancreatitis supplements that you are doing.
